Green Bay Botanical Garden: Appoints new board member

(GREEN BAY, WI) (November 16, 2023) – Green Bay Botanical Garden recently appointed a local community leader to join its board of directors.

“The core of any nonprofit is connected to its Board of Directors,” says Susan Garot, President & CEO, who will be retiring in spring 2024. “Developing a strong, diverse, and engaged board that is very much connected to the organization’s mission, and includes dedicated people that can lend their expertise to specific projects is every nonprofit’s goal.”

Sean Elliott currently serves as the CEO of the Greater Green Bay YMCA, and has been with them for the past five years. Originally from Philadelphia, he was also the Vice President of Operations and Capital Development at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA for 14 years prior.  His wife, Andrea, has been by his side throughout all of it as they’ve been together for 20 years. Completing the family are their four children: Joseph, Sean, Charlotte, and Evelyn.

Elliott sees the power of unity. During his time with the Garden he “hopes to serve honorably, and help support strong strategic community partnerships in the spirit of collective impact.”

“We’re happy to welcome Sean to our Board of Directors, especially as we look ahead to bringing on a new President & CEO next spring and continue the growth we’ve seen from the Carol & Bruce Bell Children’s Garden,” says Garot.

Sarah Landwehr, Judy Nagel, Murphy O’Hearn, and Steve Taylor are stepping down from the Board after completing their terms.

Returning for her final three-year term is Laura Nelson, M.D., and returning for a second three-year term is Nicole Polarek.
