Fox Cities, Wis. (July 27, 2023) – Fox Cities Chamber is excited to announce the location of Smart Girls Rock! for 2023. The November 1st event will be held at Plexus, 2444 Schultz Dr., in Neenah.
Smart Girls Rock! is an interactive mentoring program designed to inspire and help young girls who are interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) set career goals and start taking steps to pursue that path.
Each year the location rotates to a Fox Cities company that supports careers for women in STEM, with Plexus selected as the 2023 site. Plexus partners with their customers to create highly complex products that impact the way we live, work and experience the world. These products range from life-saving medical devices and mission-critical aerospace and defense products to industrial automation systems and semiconductor capital equipment.
Approximately 100 female 8th through 12th-grade students from Fox Cities schools will attend the one-day event at Plexus. They will experience group speed mentoring with women in STEM-related professions, as well as participate in other interactive activities that will expose them to in-demand STEM careers.
Female mentors are currently being sought for the speed mentoring sessions, where small groups of students move through interactive stations comprised of panels of professional women as well as hands-on activities related to STEM.
