ELM GROVE, WI (Sept. 18, 2023) — Fazio’s Sweet Moments Sweet Life is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with special gifts to both give and to receive. For a limited time, the artisanal candy shop will offer giveaways to store customers and will sell a custom-designed Advent calendar containing 25 seasonal candies.
The Advent calendar, inspired by a centuries-old practice that counts down the days before Christmas, will be available in limited quantities and is the kind of “wow” gift that’s perfect for the candy-lover who has everything. In keeping with tradition, 25 candies are packaged in a box with 25 “doors” that can be opened to reveal a sweet treat. The premium box is decorated with an artist’s rendering of Fazio’s storefront lit up with holiday cheer.
In addition, Fazio’s is planning special surprises and treats for customers as it celebrates its anniversary:
• Beginning Oct. 2, a scratch-off card will be given to each customer (limit one per customer per day, while supplies last). Every card reveals a surprise ranging from a free truffle to popcorn, candies and more. One lucky person will receive a Fazio’s Advent calendar, and one will receive an eight-piece box of chocolates every month for a year.
• During October, customers will receive a $10 discount for pre-ordered Advent calendars. (Calendars will be ready for shipment or store pick-up in November.)
• Two brand-new candies have been added to Fazio’s holiday collection: Decade of Decadence, three layers of deliciousness in a dark chocolate shell; and Nutcracker, made of nougat, caramel and peanuts in a milk chocolate shell. These will join other limited-edition holiday candies available through the holiday season.
“We have been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received since we opened 10 years ago, and we wanted a way to say thank you,” said chocolatier and co-owner Cindy Karrels. “The Advent calendar is an idea I’ve had for years, and this was the perfect opportunity to make it a reality.” She said the Advent calendar can be pre-ordered three ways: Call the store at (262) 923-7166, email sweets@fazioschocolate.com, or buy online at fazioschocolate.com. “We encourage pre-ordering not just to get the discount, but because this is a special limited-edition item. ”
Fazio’s Sweet Moments Sweet Life is a family business operated by Cindy and her husband, Mark. After looking for a career change, Cindy decided to pursue culinary training to become a pastry chef. A series of classes on chocolate changed her plans when she fell in love with the creative possibilities of being a chocolatier. Cindy and Mark went into business in October 2013.
Since then, Fazio’s has become a fixture in downtown Elm Grove for its creative selection of candies and chocolates ranging from year-round offerings to limited-edition artisanal chocolates only available at certain times of year. During the winter months, the shop is an attraction inside and out for its exuberant holiday decorations.
