Brookfield, WI – December 11, 2023 – On February 28, 2024, the Elmbrook Education Foundation will host the 2nd Annual Explore STEAM event at Brookfield Central High School (BCHS). Each booth, run by sponsors, features a variety of activities in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
“Come explore and discover at Elmbrook Education Foundation’s 2nd Annual Explore STEAM event on Wednesday February 28th, 2024. Learning through hands on activities and demonstrations help us to grow our Elmbrook learners’ curious minds and understanding of the world.” Elizabeth Simpson, Explore STEAM chair.
Students in kindergarten through eighth grade have the chance to rotate through a variety of activities, encouraged to consider their future career options and interests. Attendees take part in a family-friendly event that fosters relationships between district students and community partners. Proceeds will go towards supporting both the new Robotics and Automation LAUNCH strand and the Robotics and Automation space at Brookfield East, available to all high school students in the Elmbrook district, and impacting thousands of students for years to come. Tickets will be available on January 29th at https://ExploreSTEAM24.givesmart.com
“So far, being a part of LAUNCH has been a great experience in terms of planning for my future and figuring out what path I want to follow. I’m thrilled to be able to collaborate with EEF on their development of the upcoming Explore STEAM event. Building relationships by contacting past and potential event sponsors has considerably deepened my understanding of working in the professional world!” Emma Koceja, Global Business LAUNCH Student, BCHS.
EEF was organized in 1958 to award scholarships to select Brookfield High School graduates. In 1999, the Foundation’s mission expanded to include teacher grants for innovative projects that benefit all students and raise money to support and strengthen outstanding learning ideas that improve the overall educational quality of our public schools. EEF has awarded over $1,600,000 in scholarships and over $625,000 in grants which enhance and extend the established curriculum and support projects that are beyond the district’s budget.
