Milwaukee, Wis. – BBB of Wisconsin and BBB of Minnesota and AARP of Wisconsin and AARP of Minnesota are pleased to present “Scam Jam” – “Unmasking the Scammers – a free event geared toward seniors, caregivers, social workers, community leaders, and others. The event will take place in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Tuesday, October 24.
Scammers are operating at full speed, stealing record levels of money from unsuspecting victims. However, you can stay a step ahead of the con-artists by staying informed of their latest tricks. The BBB and AARP will discuss how to prevent the fraud currently targeting consumers and, especially, older Americans.

Doors open and a light breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. There is a presentations piece with three expert speakers on different fraud prevention topics from the FBI, AARP and the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI). Also, visit with local agencies and partner organizations at their resource tables throughout the morning. Some of the agencies that will be present include Wish of a Lifetime, Cycling Without Age, the Alzheimer’s Association and Board on Aging & Long-Term Care, to name a few.
