MADISON, Wis. (March 27, 2023) – AprilAire, the nationwide leader in professional-grade Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) solutions for the home since 1954, is once again supporting the American Lung Association Fight For Air Climb fundraising event. AprilAire is on a mission to enhance people’s health by improving the air in homes. Raising awareness about lung health and supporting life-saving research to end lung disease with the American Lung Association aligns closely with the AprilAire mission and the company wholeheartedly embraces the Fight For Air Climb initiative. AprilAire is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of this year’s Wisconsin climb.
“Making a difference for those fighting lung disease by climbing stairs for donations is a natural fit for AprilAire since creating healthy homes has been our singular focus for almost 70 years,” said AprilAire President Jimmy Pendley. “We are proud to have supported the American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb in Milwaukee for four years now with more than 170 climbs completed and $24,000 raised. We have set our sights on increasing our participation and donations 25% by encouraging our network of thousands of AprilAire Healthy Air pros nationwide to support the American Lung Association by raising donations through the Fight For Air Climb in their areas.”
The nationwide list of Fight For Air Climb events can be found on the American Lung Association website and spans the country from Albuquerque to Atlanta, Dallas to Dayton, Portland to Philadelphia and features more than 40 individual event locations now through early June.
In Milwaukee, the Fight For Air Climb will be held on Saturday, May 20 at American Family Field, the home of MLB’s Milwaukee Brewers. Last year, more than 60 AprilAire employees, including Pendley, participated in the event that featured two climbing options, mounting the 1,550 steps in the loge level climb or the 2,801 steps in the loge level plus terrace level climb. Employees from all three AprilAire campuses in the Madison, Wis. area are expected to participate in 2023.
“Once again this year, our events are proving to be as moving as they are rewarding for all who participate, young and old alike,” said Janelle Hom, Executive Director for the Lung Association. “Thank you to all of our participants, volunteers and sponsors who are coming together to make a difference in the lives of people facing lung disease and lung cancer.”
Funds raised from the Fight For Air Climb support the mission of the American Lung Association and efforts to defeat lung cancer, champion clean air, and improve the quality of life for those with lung disease and their families.
