The Community Blood Center, based in Appleton, collects more than 50,000 blood donations annually and distributes red blood cells, platelets and plasma to more than 40 hospitals throughout the Midwest.
Established in 1955, The Community Blood Center was founded in response to the need for a reliable, local blood supply. At that time, Outagamie County Medical Society voted to form a community blood donor program to serve St. Elizabeth and Kaukauna community hospitals.
