Acuity recently donated $5,000 to Construction Ready, which prepares people for stable construction jobs that offer competitive pay and a clear path to a fulfilling career.
“We are extremely grateful to Acuity Insurance for their generous support of our mission to train, credential, and place individuals in the construction industry. Thanks to this contribution, we were able to offer a full scholarship for a student to participate and benefit from our most recent Construction Ready Pre-Apprenticeship Course in Atlanta. This course provides students with the skills, knowledge, certifications, and connection they need to begin a rewarding career in construction. We appreciate Acuity Insurance’s commitment to investing in the future of our community and our industry,” said Construction Ready’s Cristina Wells.
A video commemorating the Atlanta graduation class is available online.
“Acuity loves contractors, and we understand the importance of supporting nonprofits that give back to the construction industry. Finding skilled labor is an obstacle impacting many in the industry, and there is great value in providing opportunities and hands-on training for more people to pursue a fruitful career in the trades. We at Acuity are grateful to be able to support the work of Construction Ready’s Apprenticeship Program,” said Acuity Construction Consultant John Lack.
Acuity’s donation supported the 20-day training program that the organization offers. This program offers a fresh start to begin a construction career by teaching students essential skills such as working with power tools, using hand tools, communication skills, and creating a resume. The program also pairs hiring companies with students. The program is based in Georgia, where Acuity writes insurance and supports the contracting community.
