Rep. Rodriguez: Applauds Governor Evers’ successful mediation efforts

Madison – Representative Sara Rodriguez (D – Brookfield) released the following statement applauding Governor Evers’ mediation efforts which averted a strike by nurses at UW Health:

“Nurses go to work each day with one goal: to provide the best possible care for every patient in their care. For that reason it is vitally important for hospital management to hear the voices of nurses. With a strike scheduled to begin tomorrow, Governor Evers worked to bring both UW Health’s Nurses and UW Health’s Administration together at the Executive Residence this weekend. During today’s press conference, the leadership of the UW Health’s Nurses, and UW Health’s Administration both credited Governor Evers’ mediation efforts for averting tomorrow’s scheduled strike, and for working with stakeholders to find a solution that gave a voice to nurses in the workplace.”

“As a nurse, I know that a good relationship between workers and management leads to better care for patients. I am grateful to Governor Evers for his mediation efforts which forged an agreement that will give a greater voice to nurses in the workplace, will strengthen the relationship between workers and management, and will ensure that patients receive the best possible care. ”
