Fox Cities Chamber: Deadline nearing for Fox Cities businesses to secure booth at Chamber career expo

FOX CITIES, Wis. (Feb. 8, 2022) – Friday, Feb. 11 is the deadline for Fox Cities businesses to register for a booth at the Fox Cities Chamber’s annual career expo. The Future Fox Cities Career Expo is slated for March 8-9, 2022 at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center, 355 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, for 8th– through 12th-grade students from around the Fox Cities.

“The career expo provides an excellent opportunity for Fox Cities businesses to connect with our future workforce,” said Sharla Jens, VP Employer and Talent Development. “Now is the perfect time for companies to meet with these students, be a resource and have those conversations, to help fill your pipeline for future workers.”

The Chamber has more than 2,000 students and 50 businesses registered for the event. The first day, March 8, will be open to 8th-grade students only. Students receive information on career opportunities, how to prepare for a career with high school coursework, and other engaging and interactive experiences with regional employers. The second day, March 9, is targeted toward high-school students and provides information on job shadowing, informational interviews, classroom visits, company tours, internships, summer employment, part-time employment, youth apprenticeships, and more.

New this year is a partnership with Junior Achievement, which provides career exploration lesson plans for 8th grade students, as well as activities for teachers to assist them in their preparation.
