Jackie Nitschke Center Board: Provides $5,000 match for #GivingTuesday

(Green Bay, Wis.) – As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, the need for addiction services is increasing across the U.S. and right here in Northeast Wisconsin. Dealing with addiction is always challenging, but even more so while dealing with the impact of the pandemic.

That is why members of the Jackie Nitschke Center (JNC) Board of Directors are providing $5,000 in matching grant monies for #GivingTuesday, which takes place on December 1.

“We will match – dollar for dollar – #GivingTuesday donations up to a total of $5,000,” stated Tom Bartel, JNC board president. “The pandemic has been incredibly challenging when it comes to providing treatment services. The Jackie Nitschke Center has had to quickly adjust our programs while taking steps to ensure the health and safety of our clients. All of these investments had to be made as the demand for services increased.”

“Donations on #GivingTuesday will help us to safely maintain in-person services and expand our virtual service options during the pandemic and beyond,” said Michelle Pierquet-Hohner, JNC’s Director of Community & Donor Engagement. “It will also ensure that no one gets turned away for the inability to afford treatment, particularly when the pandemic ends; when we expect even more people to seek treatment.”

“We hope the challenge grant donation will encourage those in the community to contribute to the Center,” added Bartel. “It’s a way to stretch your personal donation and make an even greater impact.”  Donors are also encouraged to check with their employers to determine if they offer a matching contribution.

The Jackie Nitschke Center has been saving lives and restoring families from substance use addiction for nearly 50 years. providing education, treatment, support and HOPE to adults and families affected by drug and alcohol addiction through residential and outpatient programming
