Fox Cities Chamber: Future Fox Cities Career Expo connects local students with regional employers

APPLETON, Wis. (October 12, 2020) – Future Fox Cities, an annual talent awareness and career exploration event of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, will be held virtually on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Registration is now open for business vendors and schools at foxcitieschamber.com.

Due to the uncertainties of COVID-19, and with consideration to the safety and well-being of all the Career Expo participants, the Fox Cities Chamber is presenting a virtual Career Expo format for 2021. The event promises to deliver area students with an engaging, interactive opportunity to explore careers in the Fox Cities region.

For the first time ever, this 15-year event is expanding to allow employers the opportunity to interact with college students during the final hour of the event. This interactive event will feature employer-led webinars, a scavenger hunt, and virtual booths where employers can connect with future workforce and provide awareness to the career opportunities in the Fox Cities region.

“We are delighted to present Future Fox Cities Career Expo 2021 in an awesome virtual platform,” shared Amy Andersen, Director of Talent & K-16 Relations at the Fox Cities Chamber. “This event promises to deliver the WOW factor to students, counselors, CTE teachers, parents and employers who want to stay connected and explore the wealth of career pathways and opportunities in the Fox Cities region.”

Although the format has changed, the mission remains the same. Future Fox Cities will continue to give students the opportunity to connect with and learn from regional employers within the following six career clusters: health sciences; communication and information systems; industrial, manufacturing and engineering; human services and resources; business, marketing and management; and environmental and agricultural systems. Students will learn about required skills and post high school training or education requirements, and experience a variety of webinars focused on soft skills and career-based learning opportunities to enhance their career development.

Applications are now being accepted for businesses interested in participating in this annual event. Applications can be found at foxcitieschamber.com. The fee for businesses is $350 per booth for Fox Cities Chamber members and $450 per booth for non-members. In addition, there will be limited special pricing available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the following categories of business/organization: three booths will be reserved for charitable non-profits for a discounted rate of $150 per booth; three booths will be reserved for state agencies (such as the Department of Natural Resources) for a discounted rate of $150 per booth; three booths will be reserved for higher education organizations for a discounted rate of $150 per booth; and three booths will be reserved for member small business owners at a rate of $150 per booth.
