(Oconomowoc, Wis.) Caroline N. Palmer, M.D., and Richard A. Frank, M.D., have joined the medical staff at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Brown Deer. Both board-certified psychiatrists will see patients in Rogers’ day treatment program, which offers mental health treatment for children and adolescents while allowing them to remain in school.
Dr. Palmer is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee and is board certified in psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. An assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at MCW, she treated both adolescents and adults with addiction while completing her fellowship training at MCW’s affiliated hospitals. Dr. Palmer also has experience treating children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. She has served on the executive council of the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association and is a member of the Association for Psychiatry and the Law.
“I really enjoy collaborating with children and families as part of a team,” Dr. Palmer said. “I’m excited about joining the team at Rogers as they offer a vast array of services from a multidisciplinary team of psychologists and psychiatrists. I look forward to contributing my knowledge and experience.”
Dr. Frank is a graduate of Yale Medical School and serves as an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine at MCW. Board certified in both child and adult psychiatry, he has more than 30 years’ experience as a staff psychiatrist for a variety of hospitals in Massachusetts and Wisconsin. Dr. Frank has also served as faculty at Harvard Medical School, Tufts University School of Medicine and Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. He is currently a training analyst at the Wisconsin Psychoanalytic Institute and teaches adult and child psychotherapy to mental health students.
“Psychiatry is as much about working together to help people as it is about treating mental illness,” Dr. Frank said. “I am passionate about seeing the patient as a whole person and believe building relationships is the fulcrum for moving toward health, growth, maturity and greater enjoyment of all life has to offer.” His primary clinical interests include depression, anxiety, personality disorders and trauma.
Both psychiatrists are members of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and American Psychiatric Association.
