Waukesha, Wis. (October 9, 2013) – Bart Adams, partner at Sikich LLP (formerly Kolb + Co.) has been appointed chair of the Waukesha County Business Alliance’s Policy Board. Brian Nemoir, president of Full Impact Communications has been appointed vice chair and Tom Fotsch, COO of EmbedTek has been appointed secretary. Adams succeeds former Lt. Governor Margaret Farrow, who previously chaired the Policy Board.

Focused on key policy issues, the Policy Board strives to:

§ Encourage economic development by promoting greater collaboration between the many public and private stakeholders in the county and region

§ Improve and modernize our public infrastructure, including roads and water supply, to encourage people and businesses to locate in southeastern Wisconsin

§ Ensure employers have access to a skilled talent pool of workers, today and in the future

§ Create a competitive tax and regulatory climate that retains, attracts and creates businesses and jobs

The Policy Board’s efforts are guided by the Business Alliance’s three policy committees – Economic Development, Education and Infrastructure.

The Policy Board was created in 2010 when the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce and the Waukesha County Action Network combined to form the Waukesha County Business Alliance and provide a strong voice for the business community. Its mission is to inspire change and drive action around important, broad public policy issues in order to improve the business climate and enhance the quality of life in Waukesha County and the region. To achieve its mission, the Policy Board, working in conjunction with the Policy Committees, identifies public policy issues needing to be addressed, conducts research and drives resolution by making specific policy recommendations for review and approval by the Alliance’s Board of Directors.

Through his work at Sikich, Adams assists clients in areas such as business plan and budget development, company product line and facilities expansion, financing, profit planning, cash flow planning, and merger and acquisition analysis. He has specific expertise in the construction and real estate, manufacturing and distribution, and service industries.
