Milwaukee, Wis, October 24, 2012 – Three companies were recognized Tuesday as winners of the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin’s Torch Awards for Business Ethics and Integrity.
The three winners were selected by an independent panel of eleven business ethics experts and announced at a ceremony at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee on Tuesday, October 23rd. The winners were chosen based on submissions that demonstrated excellence in ethical practices, service excellence, reputation, honest advertising, peer recognition, management practices and employee training in ethical behavior. The winners are:
Category I (1 to 10 employees) – Med Advocates, Racine
Category II (11 to 50 employees) – The Stark Collection Agency, Madison
Category IV (more than 175 employees) – Briggs & Stratton, Milwaukee
No award was given for businesses with 51 to 175 employees, since none of the applicants met the judges’ scoring criteria to receive an award. In addition to the above winners, the following awards were given:
Category I – PuroClean, Waukesha (runner up)
Category II – Sure-Dry Basement Systems, Menasha (runner up)
Category IV – Cintas, multiple locations in Wisconsin (honorable mention)
“It’s our pleasure to shine the spotlight on these companies, all of whom put a high priority on ethics and integrity with their customers, their employees and their vendors,” said Randall Hoth, president/CEO of the Wisconsin BBB. “They join a long list of impressive Wisconsin companies who have achieved this honor in the past 10 years.”
Rockwell Automation also was recognized for its International Torch Award, which was awarded by the Council of Better Business Bureaus at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on October 2, 2012.
