Statewide TV Ad Highlights Tammy Baldwin’s Anti-Business Voting Record

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched a television ad blitz throughout Wisconsin today highlighting Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin’s support for anti-business policies while in Washington, including her support for higher taxes, more job-killing regulations, and Obamacare. The purpose of the Chamber’s ad and grassroots effort is to ensure that the people of Wisconsin understand the contrast between members of Congress who support big government and those who support free enterprise.

“At a time when Wisconsin needs jobs above all else, it’s shameful that Tammy Baldwin continues to turn her back on the state’s job creators,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “She fought hard for Obamacare, wants more job-killing regulations, and given the choice, would raise taxes by nearly $900 billion. These are the anti-business policies that are crippling Wisconsin’s businesses and stifling the state’s economic recovery.”

The ad is part of the U.S. Chamber’s 2012 voter education and grassroots mobilization campaign, the largest effort in the organization’s 100 year history. This multi-media communications project is starting earlier than ever to educate constituents about members’ positions on big government versus free enterprise policies. It will hold them accountable for their positions on Obamacare, job-killing regulations, energy security, and a culture of wastful Washington spending. The Chamber’s American Jobs and Growth Agenda will serve as the foundation for this effort.
