August 18, 2011, Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau (BBB), a statewide non-profit consumer education and business ethics organization, has opened an office in the heart of downtown Madison on Capitol Square.

The new office, located at 14. W. Mifflin Street, will serve 14 counties in southwestern Wisconsin: Dane, Adams, Columbia, Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Juneau, La Crosse, Lafayette, Monroe, Richland, Sauk, and Vernon. The Madison office is one of three locations serving Wisconsinites. The other locations include Milwaukee and Appleton.

“The Better Business Bureau has been providing consumers with the tools they need to make wise decisions for nearly 100 years,” said Randall Hoth, Wisconsin BBB president/CEO. “We are very pleased to bolster our presence in southwestern Wisconsin as we embark on another 100 years of promoting smart decisions and trust in the marketplace.”

To get the word out about this major resource for consumers and ethical businesses, the Wisconsin BBB will have an information booth at the Dane County Farmers’ Market this weekend from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can learn more about BBB services, including the Business Review — a feature at wisconsin.bbb.org that helps customers find important, pre-purchase information about companies throughout North America.

In addition, the Wisconsin BBB is also launching an ad campaign in the Madison area. The multimedia campaign includes billboards, print, and online ads featured on Madison.com .

Free services from the BBB include consumer education, complaint resolution and a request-a-quote program, which is an efficient way to receive quotes from reputable companies. Mediation/arbitration is also available for a nominal fee. Office hours in Madison are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For more information or further inquiries, please contact BBB Regional Director Andrea Gage at 608-268-BBB1 (2221).
