Milwaukee, Wisconsin – October 7, 2011– The local REALTORS® Young Professional Networking Group, otherwise known as YPN, has again organized a book drive for new and gently used children’s books. These books will be donated to the children enrolled in the Head Start Programs throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. Books should be suitable for children ages 3 to 5, but all books will be accepted. Those appropriate for over the age of 5 will be donated to other organizations in the area.
YPN’s goal is to collect a minimum of 2,000 books during the drive, which will allow every Head Start child to take a book home, as well as provide books for their classrooms. In addition, YPN is hosting “Read with a REALTOR® Week” beginning on November 7th. Over 800 children will benefit from one-on-one story time provided by local REALTOR® Volunteers.
The main book drop-off location is the Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS® (GMAR), 12300 West Center Street, Milwaukee. (Monetary donations may also be made at the GMAR office.) The following GMAR members’ offices are participating in this campaign and books may be dropped off at these locations as well:
