On a per capita basis, income taxes averaged $1,137 per person, 13th highest in the country. The report also found those making more than $100,000 accounted for 40 percent of the state’s total income and 49.1 percent of the income taxes collected. Those making $30,000 to $100,000 accounted for 48.3 percent of total income and 46.3 percent of taxes collected, while those making less than $30,000 a year paid 4.6 percent of the taxes collected.
