— Wisconsin’s agriculture department is looking for participants in its “Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin” grant program. The program will award $222,700 this year, with a maximum of $50,000 for an individual grant. Proposals are due in late September and need to show how they will stimulate Wisconsin’s agricultural economy by increasing the purchase of Wisconsin grown or produced food. U.S. Oil, based in Combined Locks, markets petroleum products and distributes automotive parts throughout the upper Midwest. The company pays for all the expenses of the charity event, which will involve 700 golfers playing on four golf courses in northeast Wisconsin. The money raised is concentrated in organizations that address basic needs for children, working families, seniors and chronic health problems.
