— The drafting group working to turn the recommendations of the Governor’s Task Force on Global Warming into legislation has wrapped up the policy work and a bill should be finalized by the end of the year. The legislation will include the task force recommendation that 25 percent of the state’s energy be produced via renewable resources by 2025. Sen. Mark Miller, D-Monona, was one of the lawmakers involved in the drafting team. Miller said the legislation “embraces recommendations of the task force” but “doesn’t go beyond the recommendations.” See more: — The Dow Jones opens this week at 9,972, down 260 points from last week’s open. It lost 250 points on Friday alone after consumer spending numbers came in lower than expected. The WisBusiness index of state stocks took a similar hit, losing nearly 60 points on the week to open today at 1,697. Part of that loss came from the crane-maker Manitowoc. The company’s stock lost more than 20 percent of its value on the week as it reported a quarterly loss of 14 cents per share.
— A handful of state companies are reporting on their fiscal situations this week. On Wednesday comes the report from Great Wolf Resorts, operator of resorts in the Wisconsin Dells, Sheboygan and ten other cities. — The state utility regulator has approved plans for a utility to install a system that will use wood to make electricity in northern Wisconsin. A state renewable energy group calls the project a good fit because the money spent to acquire wood fuel will remain in the local area instead of being exported to western coal states. See details:

Charter Wire makes its move : Charter Wire, the last major manufacturer in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, has nearly completed its move to the Menomonee Valley where it has a new 160,000-square-foot facility. Roundy’s acquiring Aurora in-store pharmacies: Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. will buy from Aurora Health Care all Aurora-operated pharmacies located inside Pick ‘n Save and Copps stores. Roundy’s said Friday afternoon it expects to begin operating the 20 pharmacies in December after receiving regulatory approvals. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
