Mercury Marine announces 85 permanent job reductions: Fond du Lac’s Mercury Marine confirmed Friday that 85 permanent job reductions have taken place and a two-week temporary shutdown is taking place for portions of the plant beginning Monday. Pacon Corp. to add 40 paper converting positions in Fox Cities: Paper converter Pacon Corp. plans an expansion that will add up to 40 jobs to its Fox Cities work force. At the same time, it will shutter the Iowa facility it acquired in 2007 from Riverside Paper. In announcing the plans Thursday, the company said it hopes to take advantage of synergies to drive its business forward.

Auto dealer Russ Darrow to hire 55 more employees: Despite slow times in the automotive industry, Russ Darrow Group, one of the largest dealerships in southeast Wisconsin, said it has 55 openings and will hold a job fair next week to accept applications.
