MADISON, Wis., Jan. 24, 2008 – The following is a statement by Jim Leonhart, executive vice president of the Wisconsin Biotechnology & Medical Device Association, regarding Gov. Doyle’s State of the State Address.
“Wisconsin’s bioscience industry applauds Gov. Doyle’s efforts to grow the state’s innovation economy by fostering increased research and development, and supporting new and emerging businesses through increased venture capital investment. We also commend the governor for his dedication to the next generation of bioscience leaders in Wisconsin through a strong commitment to the education of the state’s young people. We look forward to working with the governor and leaders in the state Legislature of both parties on these and other issues that are critical to the continued growth of Wisconsin’s bioscience industry.”
