Madison, WI – The law firm of Murphy Desmond S.C. has signed a lease as an anchor tenant at 33 East Main Street in Madison, currently under construction as the final phase of the city’s Block 89 development.
Beginning in October 2007, Murphy Desmond, which currently employs 75 employees in Madison, will occupy floors five and six of 33 East Main Street, totaling approximately 31,000 square feet of office space. The nine-story, glass and stone exterior building offers extraordinary views of the State Capitol, underground parking, enclosed bike parking and shower/locker facilities for tenants. The firm is currently located at the Manchester Building, 2 East Mifflin Street.
“Manchester has been a good home for Murphy Desmond for almost 20 years, but there is no additional available space at that location,” said Tim Valentyn, firm president and managing shareholder. “The new space at 33 East Main Street can accommodate our growth perfectly.”
“Murphy Desmond is a great fit for 33 East Main,” said Brad Binkowski of Urban Land Interests, the developer/owner of Block 89. “We are excited to have them join our family of tenants and look forward to helping them meet their future office space needs.”
Block 89, which is named for its location on Madison’s historic plat maps, has received accolades by larger cities including Chicago and Milwaukee, for its strong, contemporary architecture and exemplary use of space. It offers numerous restaurants and retailers and private landscaped roof terraces for tenants in the area.
