(MILWAUKEE, Wis.) – September 27, 2006 – Steve Martenet has been named president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin, effective November 1, 2006. Currently he is vice president and general manager of group business for the company.
Martenet replaces Stuart Campbell, who has decided to leave the company to spend more time with his family in St. Louis, where they live. Campbell will stay with the company through the transition.
In his new position, Martenet will oversee product and service innovation, underwriting and sales for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin.
“Steve’s strong leadership skills and extensive experience make him an ideal choice to assume this leadership position. Based on the contributions he has already made, I am confident that Steve will provide the leadership necessary to maintain strong growth in the Wisconsin market and continue to carry out our mission of improving the lives of the people we serve and the health of our communities,” said Campbell.

Martenet has 15 years experience in the health insurance industry and has served in a variety of management roles, including regional vice president of sales for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Kentucky and vice president of sales for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in business. He has completed Executive Education courses at Indiana University Kelly School of Business, Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business, and the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.
