Premier awards program recognizes Minnesota companies and individuals for technology innovation and leadership
SEPTEMBER 20, 2005 – Sajan, a leader in global communication management technology and translation services, has been named as a finalist for a 2005 Tekne Award, Minnesota’s annual awards program that recognizes companies and individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.
The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) and Minnesota Technology, Inc. (MTI), in partnership with Medical Alley/MNBIO, have joined together to recognize technology innovators and leaders who have made lasting contributions to enhancing the quality of life and competitiveness of Minnesota. The awards are separated into both emerging and established company categories that recognize the best and brightest in the innovation, development, education, commercialization and management of technology.
“In a market that is growing so rapidly, we have long promoted the seamless integration of technology and language translation service. Be innovative, but more importantly, use technology to deliver measurable value,” said Shannon Zimmerman, Sajan’s CEO. “To achieve validation from so many world-respected companies, such as those we call clients in the Twin Cities market, and now to be formally acknowledged as a finalist is an absolute delight.”
“The Tekne Awards have come to represent a collection of preeminent technology companies that are industry leaders in not just Minnesota, but around the globe,” said Kate Rubin, president of MHTA. “Once again, this year’s award finalists prove that Minnesota is an ever-increasing hub for technology innovation.”
“To survive in today’s economy, companies must be technologically agile and progressive. These 2005 Tekne finalists provide exceptional models for using technology to reinvent and grow their businesses,” said Wayne A. Pletcher, Ph.D., president and CEO of MTI.
The 2005 Tekne Awards will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Fifty-one finalists have been named in 17 categories. A list of all finalists and categories can be found at www.tekneawards.org.
