Milwaukee, Wis. – November 29, 2005 – In an effort to support and enhance the lives of Wisconsin youth, Microsoft today announced a grant to Lad Lake valued at more than $400,000 in software. Lad Lake is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe, caring environment for at-risk youth and their families.

On December 2, at 3:30 p.m., Lad Lake will announce Microsoft’s grant during a special recognition reception at the nonprofit’s Synergy School, located at 2820 W. Grant Street in Milwaukee. Rob Busch, Enterprise Sales Manager for Microsoft’s Wisconsin Territory, will join Lad Lake board members, staff, corporate partners and participants to support the event.

“We deeply appreciate Microsoft’s generosity in this significant software grant,” said Lad Lake Executive Director Gary Erdmann. “Through their support, we will be able to upgrade our entire technology network, enhancing our ability to further bridge the digital divide and provide better outreach to at-risk adolescents. Lad Lake strives every day to improve the quality of life for these adolescents, and Microsoft’s grant gives us the resources we need to make a difference in this community.”

Microsoft’s software donation will be used to upgrade Lad Lake’s entire network and software infrastructure. This grant will help upgrade the computers and programs used at Lad Lake, providing the staff with more efficient means to communicate and supervise its clients. In addition to aiding the staff, Microsoft’s grant will be used to upgrade the computers made available to youth at Lad Lake and their off-site campuses. This software will provide technology education for at-risk students, giving them the resources they need to improve and further their lives.

“It is an honor to support Lad Lake, an organization that works tirelessly to help Wisconsin youth,” said Rob Busch, Enterprise Sales Manager for Microsoft’s Wisconsin Territory. “By providing Lad Lake and its staff with the most up-to-date technological resources, we hope to become a stepping stone in the lives of these boys – something we feel lucky to be a part of. Microsoft has long believed that inside each and every person is great potential, and we are proud to provide Lad Lake with the resources to help these youth unlock their own potential.”
