New North: Peggy Ament of Kimberly-Clark named to board of directors

NEW NORTH, February 8, 2019 – Peggy Ament, vice president of human resources for Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s largest business unit, its North-American Consumer Products division, has been named to the board of directors of New North Inc., Vicki Updike, New North co-chair and chair of the board development committee, announced. She was approved at the organization’s January 25 board meeting.

“We are excited to have Peggy’s perspective on the New North board of directors,” says Updike. “She has nearly three decades of human-resources experience in the consumer products space, in businesses where manufacturing has been key to delivering business results, which is ideal with our current focus on the attraction and retention of talent to the region. As a founding member of New North and a global leader, it also is important to have the voice of Kimberly-Clark represented in our dialogue.”

Ament has served as a vice president of human resources for Kimberly-Clark Corporation in both the North American and Europe/Middle East/African business units since October 2013. She relocated back to Neenah, Wis., in 2017 to assume her current role. Ament began her professional career in 1990 with Scott Paper, transitioning to K-C five years later when it purchased Scott, and subsequently held a variety of plant and divisional HR roles prior to her promotion to VP.

Ament holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a labor-relations focus from Michigan Tech University, along with a master’s degree in labor and industrial relations from Michigan State University.

Pete Dulcamera, who has represented Kimberly-Clark on the New North board of directors for the past four years, has resigned his position on the board.
