Schenck announces Daniel Young as new president
WISCONSIN – Schenck SC, a full-service regional accounting and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Daniel Young, CPA, CVA, has been named to succeed Greg Barber, CPA, as president. Young, an experienced leader in the public accounting industry, assumed the role January 1, 2018, and will work closely with Barber transitioning over the coming months.

Before being named president, Young had been the managing shareholder of Schenck’s Green Bay office since 2008 and held leadership roles on a number of the firm’s key executive committees. He served four three-year terms on the firm’s board of directors and in 2015 was named board vice chair. In 2013, Young was named the firm’s director of industry teams.

Young began his career as a staff accountant at Shinners, Hucovski and Company, SC, progressing through the ranks to shareholder in 1991. The firm merged with Schenck in 1999.

“Dan has proven leadership capabilities and passion that has been an integral part of our firm’s success,” said Barber. “With his business acumen and dedication, I am confident in Schenck’s future and look forward to seeing how the firm continues to grow and evolve.”

Barber has been with Schenck since 2013. Under his leadership, Schenck has further evolved to become a full-service assurance, tax and advisory firm that provides comprehensive business optimization, wealth advisory and M&A services.

Schenck shareholder Brad Frank, CPA, chaired the presidential nominating committee.

“It is an exciting time as we work together to continue to realize the vision Greg helped us set, and that will continue under Dan’s leadership, to continually make a difference by advising clients, developing people and serving communities,” said Frank.

As Young takes the helm, he will continue to focus on many of the priorities already established, including goals surrounding client service excellence and people initiatives that support Schenck’s mission and vision.

“As a firm, we’re dedicated to growing and developing our most important resource—our people,” said Young. “We’re helping build the next generation of leadership that will help the firm continue to thrive and grow as one of the top CPA firms in the nation.”

Young is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and has been active in a variety of community and professional organizations throughout his career, including the Greater Green Bay Chamber, Downtown Green Bay, Inc., Green Bay Business Improvement District, Heritage Hill and NEW Community Shelter. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

In 2016, Young was selected as a recipient of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Distinguished Alumni Award. The award recognizes UW-Green Bay graduates who have distinguished themselves in their professional field and are widely recognized for their career accomplishments.
