Milwaukee, Wisconsin – BrightStar Wisconsin Foundation Inc. today announced it made a $250,000 investment commitment to Errand Solutions, LLC earlier this month. Errand Solutions is a fully customizable errand running, convenience and discount service for corporate and hospital clients. The company’s goal is to leverage its technology platform to help these clients attract and retain the best talent while significantly improving productivity and key satisfaction scores for these organizations.

“It has been a remarkable ride since forming the company out of work I did while getting my MBA at UW-Madison,” said Errand Solutions’ founder and CEO, Marsha McVicker. “To see it grow from a seed idea to supporting a global client base of Fortune 500 companies is more than any Wisconsin entrepreneur can ask for. The capital from this round will go to support our new product launch and to hire our first employees in north central Wisconsin.” The company opened its support and call center in Land O Lakes, Wis., earlier this fall.

“This is the biggest thing to happen to this area in the past 15 to 20 years,” said Bob Egan, executive director of the Vilas County Economic Development Corp. “The potential for Errand Solutions to add up to 60 living wage jobs with full benefits over the next couple years is amazing. We are thankful BrightStar was able to help make this happen.”

The foundation encourages investment in Wisconsin early stage companies and therefore is pleased to announce the formation of another fund in the state called 30 Ventures. The fund is led by experienced venture capitalist George Arida and is based in Madison. It is focused on making investments in medical and bio technologies as well as the industrial water and chemical tech sectors.

BrightStar also wants to bring attention to a unique event that draws awareness and support to early stage inventors, entrepreneurs and researchers. The Medical College of Wisconsin has the pleasure of hosting this year’s annual Health & Human Services SBIR/STTR Conference. This three-day event will be held Nov. 7-9 and is designed to educate attendees about “America’s largest seed fund” and how to apply for these commercialization dollars.
