MADISON, WI – June 1, 2017 – First Business is pleased to present the 4th Annual Enterprising NONPROFITS Event in partnership with United Way of Dane County at The Madison Concourse Hotel tomorrow, Friday, June 2.

This all-day interactive conference allows for-profit and nonprofit business leaders, executive directors, business development directors, and volunteer coordinators to collaborate and share best practices. South central Wisconsin’s nonprofit community is integral to our quality of life and long-term success.

“Now, more than ever, nonprofits are serving as catalysts for change,” says Renee Moe, President & CEO of United Way of Dane County. “The world is changing, and all those involved with nonprofits are learning to innovate, collaborate, and lead more effectively to strengthen our community.”

At the Madison event, the line-up includes keynote speaker Paul Wesselmann presenting “Creating Ripples, Making Waves: Transforming Through Innovation.” Change happens — fast and frequently! Organizations and individuals determined to thrive in challenging times need to be increasingly creative, nimble, and responsive to shifts. More than ever, we need to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships beyond our usual networks. Our opening session will fire us up for the day, and explore several tools and strategies to help us extend our capacity to connect, change, and grow.

After the keynote, attendees choose from morning, early afternoon, and late afternoon sessions.

Morning sessions include:

-Reaching More Diverse Populations

-Developing Your Board

-Talent Development/Succession Planning

-Selling Your Mission to Support Your Mission

During lunch, Paul Wesselmann will present “Making Today Count: Transforming Today’s Energy Into Tomorrow’s Success.” We want to squeeze in a few ideas about how to make sure the motivation and ideas we’re exploring make it back to your organization, so our morning keynote speaker will provide an infusion of energy with a few ideas and some table topics to enhance the potential of both our networking and our take-aways from the day.

After lunch, sessions include:

-Shifting Your Social Media Mindset: Focusing on Engaging Your Community Through Social Media and Leaving the Numbers Behind

-Building Board Engagement

-Collaboration with Community Partners – HIRE Story

Late afternoon sessions include:

-Techniques for Building Community Engagement

-The Secret to Revealing Your Inner Leadership

-Managing Human Resources Without a Dedicated HR Professional

-Redefining Your Value Proposition: A Case Study on Rebranding

The day will conclude with a conference wrap-up by Neil Heinen, editorial director for WISC-TV.

The cost to attend the event is $50 and onsite registration will be available the day of the event. Tickets include access to all speakers and lunch. Learn more about Enterprising NONPROFITS at http://www.enterprisingnonprofits.org/enterprising-nonprofits-madison.html.
