MILWAUKEE, WI September 19, 2012 / The March of Dimes has named a new Wisconsin state director. Jodi Legge, a native Wisconsinite, will oversee all facets of the Wisconsin chapter, from programs, public affairs and marketing to events, fundraising, operations and volunteer development.

Legge has more than 20 years experience in strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, communications, public relations and special event planning and was an award-winning newspaper reporter from 1995-2001. Legge spent five years working in Washington, D.C., leading the marketing, communications and fundraising efforts of the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and America’s Promise Alliance, a nonprofit children’s advocacy organization. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management & Marketing from Bethel University.

Born in Milwaukee and raised in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Legge is proud of her Midwestern heritage and is thrilled to be back in Wisconsin. She enjoys travel, cooking, meeting new people, and is an avid Packer fan. She is married and the proud mom of two adult sons.

“With a background in marketing and fundraising, Jodi is the ideal person for this position,” said Shelly Goodchild, West Region Area Director for the March of Dimes. “Plus, her Wisconsin roots, passion for the mission of the March of Dimes and prior success in fundraising makes her the perfect person to move the Wisconsin chapter forward. The Chapter is preparing for Signature Chefs events in Milwaukee on September 27, in Green Bay on October 15, and in Madison on November 15.
