BROOKFIELD, WI (July 7, 2010) – KW Advertising, located in Brookfield, WI and named one of The Business Journal’s Top 25 advertising agencies in 2010, and Second Hand Purrs, a Milwaukee area non-profit cat shelter, have been selected by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to participate in the 2010 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Building Partners for Humanity campaign. The campaign helps combine the professional talents of metro Milwaukee’s most creative minds with the often-unheard messages of local non-profit organizations that serve the community.

“During a down economy, decreased charitable giving tends to be focused on organizations that provide basic needs like food and shelter which is absolutely invaluable and commendable,” said Gary Ebert, KW Advertising’s President. “However our staff, consisting of animal lovers and cat owners, wanted to promote awareness and serve as an advocate for a cause that wasn’t attracting as much attention or soliciting as many donations.”

“I am very excited to have this opportunity because the vast majority of our budget goes into keeping Second Hand Purrs up and running, not into advertising,” said Susan, Second Hand Purrs’ President/Director. “In 2009, we adopted out 325 cats and kittens to new and loving homes. This partnership and campaign exposure will help us achieve our 2010 goal of adopting out 350 or more.”

As campaign sponsor, the newspaper will donate a half-page, full-color ad that will publish twice in one week inside the publication sometime this fall and be featured in an online ad that will be posted on JSOnline’s home page one of the days the ad is published. In addition to space donation, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will donate $1,000 to the three most effective and creative campaign ads as judged by a United Adworkers Local 208-sponsored panel.

ABOUT SECOND HAND PURRS
