MILWAUKEE – Wangard Partners, Inc. has named Matt Moroney chief operations officer and general counsel.
Moroney brings a wealth of experience to the firm, having held executive-level positions in both the private and public sectors. Most recently he served as strategic economic initiatives director for the Wisconsin Department of Administration, a position in which he played a key role advancing plans for development of Foxconn’s plant in Racine County.
“Matt’s arrival to our leadership team is very significant because of his extensive experience as a team leader and problem solver. Additional positions held by Moroney in the past include serving as deputy secretary at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and deputy chief of staff for operations in Gov. Scott Walker’s administration. He also served as executive director of the Metropolitan Builders Association of Greater Milwaukee.
Wangard said Moroney’s experience working with different audiences, including “reaching across the political aisle” will help deepen the firm’s overall leadership experience. Moroney has experienced success working with federal, state, county and municipal leaders, including, most recently, Racine Mayor Cory Mason, and recently appointed state DNR Secretary Preston Cole. Such leadership experience will be a key factor in attracting institutional investors to development projects that Wangard Partners has on its radar.
