From Rose Oswald Poels, president/CEO of the Wisconsin Bankers Association

“WBA applauds Congress on working together to pass S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act. This highly bipartisan, commonsense legislation will provide important regulatory relief for banks in Wisconsin and improve their ability to serve their customers.

WBA would like to specifically thank Congressmen Sean Duffy, Glenn Grothman, Mike Gallagher, Ron Kind, and Jim Sensenbrenner for supporting this critical legislation that will appropriately tailor regulations in ways that promote economic activity without compromising systemic stability.

This bill recalibrates financial regulations so banks can get back to the basics: lending to customers and communities and helping the economy grow. In short, it offers targeted, commonsense fixes to ill-fitting financial regulations that have limited the ability of banks to serve their customers.

Wisconsin banks continue their important role as key drivers of our state’s economy by helping businesses grow and families prosper.

This legislation simply makes it easier for banks to fulfill this mission.”
