May 21 briefing will kick off monthly briefing series

MOUNT PLEASANT – With site work underway on the Foxconn project site in Racine County, the Village of Mount Pleasant will convene regular monthly Foxconn project briefings designed to offer interested community members the opportunity hear directly from Village officials and project partners about the latest Foxconn-related updates and activities and ask questions.

“We value open dialogue and transparency,” said Claude Lois, Project Director for the Village of Mount Pleasant. “It has always been our intention to host regular public briefing meetings, now that work is underway, it is the right time.”

Briefings will be held the third Monday of every month from 6:00 – 7:30 PM in Ebe Auditorium at Village Hall, located at 8811 Campus Drive in Mount Pleasant. The first briefing will be on Monday, May 21.

The Village of Mount Pleasant also recently announced it would live stream meetings on its Facebook Page at facebook.com/VillageofMountPleasant. Recorded meetings will be archived and accessible on Facebook and online at https://www.foxconnracinecounty.com/briefings. The public is encouraged to submit their questions here, and all materials presented at the monthly briefings will be archived and accessible on this site.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Foxconn is investing an estimated $10 billion in Mount Pleasant, in the heart of Racine County, Wisconsin to create North America’s first liquid crystal display (LCD) manufacturing facility. The Foxconn manufacturing campus will be approximately 22 million sq. ft. — by far the largest project in the state and one of the largest manufacturing campuses in the world. The investment represents the return of electronics manufacturing to the U.S. from Asia. Foxconn’s investment will change the economic landscape in Racine County and Wisconsin and establish the state as the electronics manufacturing capital of North America. To learn more about the Racine County Foxconn project, visit http://www.FoxconnRacineCounty.com.
