Nonprofit, member-governed health insurance carrier hires new executives
BROOKFIELD – Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC), a fast-growing, nonprofit health insurance cooperative, welcomes Toni Bonde as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Mark Xistris as its new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
COO Toni Bonde came to CGHC with over 25 years of healthcare and health insurance experience specializing in the areas of operations and IT consulting for public and private sector clients. Bonde is an expert in the design, development and implementation of business and technology solutions and policy, and has in-depth experience with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the public exchange marketplaces.
As COO, Bonde will lead CGHC’s claims, enrollment and billing and member services departments. Bonde received her Bachelor of Science in political science and Masters in public policy. Her education combined with years of experience allows Bonde to provide insight to promote efficiency and quality in company operations.
CAO Mark Xistris has over two decades of experience working closely with healthcare providers, developing strategic and innovative provider relationships with the goal of achieving improved cost and quality outcomes for patients. Xistris has in depth knowledge of managed care contracting and health care analytics. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Health Information Organization, Wisconsin’s all-payer claims database, from 2005 to 2017 and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Access Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center and safety-net provider in Madison and other southern Wisconsin communities.
As CAO, Xistris will lead CGHC’s information technology, business analytics and provider relations functions. Xistris most recently served as the Vice President of Provider Relations at Wisconsin Physicians Service Health Insurance Corporation (WPS). During his career, Xistris has also worked for UW Health and The Alliance, a Madison based cooperative, where he was responsible for the provider relations, cost and quality measurement, and business development functions. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Arizona State University, and Master of Accountancy with a Health Care Fiscal Management concentration from UW-Madison School of Business.
