The exciting collaboration between HEDC & NEWaukee that draws a connection between DIY tinkerers and major manufacturers returns for 2017
 
Milwaukee, Wisc. September 5, 2017 — The Havenwoods Economic Development Corporation, with support from NEWaukee, is proud to announce The Engine: A Conference for Makers & Manufacturers is returning for its second year on October 3 – 6, 2017 in the Havenwoods neighborhood.  

This unique experience connects residents, employees, and employers of the neighborhood to one another, to the community’s greatest assets, and the vast offering of the maker-to-manufacturer movement. The goal of Havenwoods Economic Development Corporation is to celebrate what is “Made in Havenwoods”, share best practices and innovative approaches to attracting the next generation of talented people to local companies, and to explore the ingenuity that has made Havenwoods an economic engine for all of Milwaukee.

The 2017 Engine Conference will feature a series of programs including:

  • Beyond the Facade: Happy Hour Bus Tour on October 3, 2017 from 4:30-7PM
  • A New Workforce: How Race, Ethnicity, and the Economy Intersect on October 4, 2017 from 11:00AM-1:30PM
  • Havenwoods Job Fair on October 4, 2017 from 4 – 7:30PM
  • Campfire Chats: A Crafter, Maker & Manufacturer Walk Into the Forest… on October 5, 2017 from 6-8PM
  • The Sampler: Made in Havenwoods on October 6, 2017 from 6-8PM
