MADISON, WI – August 8, 2017: Before there was Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, SXSW or
Coachella, there was Orton Park Festival (OPF). OPF started as a small gathering of neighbors
in the city’s oldest park and grew to one of the area’s premier music events, inspiring a string of
eastside music festivals that continues to grow each year.

As it has grown, OPF has become well practiced at delivering a high-end array of local, regional
and national acts, and this year is no exception. From the popular Fleetwood Mac tribute band,
Gold Dust Women; to the bold, animated, and perfectly weird Diane Coffee (a.k.a. Shaun
Fleming, whose glam rock alter ego is as entertaining as it is thought provoking); to renowned
songwriter, singer, true believer, Alejandro Escovedo; this year’s lineup will not disappoint.

Cycropia Aerial Dance kicks off the four-day festival with a performance from under the park’s
great burr oak on Family Night, Thursday, August 24th. Early risers can enjoy the ever-popular
Jazz Brunch starting at 9 a.m. Sunday. The festival closes Sunday evening with the
international touring powerhouse Davina & The Vagabonds.

As always, Orton Park Festival will feature a number of terrific local restaurant vendors, as well
as craft beer and wine tents. Kids games, the cakewalk and the ever-popular MNA auction
(Saturday only) will return as well. The event is FREE – but please, no dogs or carry-ins.

Hosted by the Marquette Neighborhood Association with major sponsorships from Willy St. Co-
op and Heartland Credit Union among others. OPF is an effective fundraiser for MNA’s many
valued community programs.
