Madison, Wis.— Seventeen Community Health Centers in Wisconsin received $1,022,369 in Quality Improvement Awards from the US Department of Health and Human Services. The announcement comes during the annual National Health Center Week celebration.

“We are thrilled with the announcement. Health Centers in Wisconsin have made tremendous investments to improve the quality of care provided to their patients, and this funding recognizes and encourages Health Centers to continue making those investments,” states Stephanie Harrison, CEO of the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association. “Health Centers are leaders in providing high-quality, cost-effective care in Wisconsin.”

Quality Improvement Awards recognize achievements in improving quality of care, increasing access to care, enhancing delivery of high value health care, addressing health disparities, and achieving patient-centered medical home (PCMH) recognition.

“Americans deserve a healthcare system that’s affordable, accessible, of the highest quality, with ample choices, driven by world-leading innovations, and responsive to the needs of the individual patient,” said HHS Secretary Tom Price in a written statement. “Supporting health centers across the country helps to achieve that mission.”
