Eagle, Wisconsin – This August, taste the history of Wisconsin brewing at Old World Wisconsin! In partnership with the Museum of Beer and Brewing, Old World Wisconsin will continue their historic brewing program with new featured guest breweries during the month of August. The featured breweries are a living tradition that allows guests at Old World Wisconsin to learn more about this vibrant craft. Capital Brewery and Milwaukee Brewing will be the August featured breweries. The historic brewing program brings beer lovers from around the state together for an exceptional beer experience to share in the taste and long history of Wisconsin’s favorite beverage.
“We will brew up a historic 19th century beer using brewing equipment and processes of that period , while guests have the opportunity to learn about the process, talk with Master Brewers, enjoy a cold, local beer, and experience a living tradition that makes Wisconsin great,” said Dan Freas, site director at Old World Wisconsin.
Guests can stop by the Sudhaus, in the German Area, to fully engage their senses as they treat themselves to a cold brew while learning more about Wisconsin’s rich brewing history. Also available for purchase are traditional German pretzels and root beer. Below are the dates of the August featured brewery days:
Saturday, August 5: Capital Brewery. Capital Brewery has over 30 years of brewing excellence that was founded to brew traditional German style lager beer in America.
Saturday, August 19: Milwaukee Brewing. Founded on the principles of crafting and creating beers using the best local ingredients and suppliers in a sustainable, creative and innovated environment.
The brewing process will begin by 10am and conclude by 4pm,. Wisconsin Historical Society members receive free admission. The brewing program is included with museum admission. The cost for admission for non-member adults is $19, children $10, senior citizens $16. Fees include an all-day tram transportation pass. Parking is free.
