[Milwaukee, Wis] – Today’s Foxconn event in Milwaukee comes just one day after President Donald Trump’s announcement at the White House that one of the industry’s leading advanced manufactures chose this region as their new home.

Foxconn’s move to Wisconsin is especially exciting for the more than 80 members and supporters of the Midwest Energy Research Consortium as they spearhead the growth of the energy power and controls industries in the Midwest.

“Today’s announcement is certainly great news for our region,” said Alan Perlstein, M-WERC Executive Director and CEO. “As the go-to membership organization for some of the leading organizations in the energy, power and controls space, the M-WERC regional cluster of business and academic institutions is excited to welcome Foxconn to Wisconsin.”

M-WERC is also proud of their efforts to lead the rebirth of Milwaukee’s long heritage in the energy, power and control sectors. For a historical perspective on who and what made this part of Wisconsin what it is today take a look at the clip below that M-WERC help produced on the history of this sector.
