Kaukauna Wis. – Last night, Unison Credit Union, a full-service financial institution serving Northeast Wisconsin, presented Kaukauna Youth Baseball (KYB) with a check for $375,000 at Kaukauna’s Riverside Park. The money will help build a sports complex, including four diamonds, a concession stand, a restroom facility, batting cages, and a pavilion.

Participating in the check presentation were State Representative Jim Steineke, Unison Credit Union president and CEO Mark Hietpas, Kaukauna Youth Baseball complex project coordinator Jay Bowers, and Kaukauna Youth Baseball president Mark Bartels.

“Youth baseball is a growing organization in our community,” said Hietpas, who threw the ceremonial first pitch last night. “This project will help enrich the lives of youth baseball players and community members by providing a place for families to learn, to be entertained, and to create memories together.”

Mark Bartels, Kaukauna Youth Baseball president of the board, said, “Without the funding from our great sponsors like Unison, it wouldn’t be possible for us to provide our youth with the facilities to play one of America’s most-loved sports. This complex gives us the ability to grow our organization even more.”

The new complex will give Kaukauna Youth Baseball space to accommodate larger weekend tournaments and provide an opportunity for more teams to participate.
