FVTC boasting some of the best nursing graduation rates in the nation

Fox Valley Technical College is boasting some of the highest graduation rates in the nation for two of its nursing programs.

In fall of 2016, 100 percent of FVTC students passed the Licensed Practical Nursing program, while 95 percent passed the Associate Degree Nursing program.

The LPN program was ranked first out of 690 programs nationally in fall, while the ADN program was ranked sixth in the state and in the top ten percent in the country.

Spring 2016 saw 98 percent of LPN and 97 percent of ADN program participants graduate. In the same period, about 84 percent of ADN students graduated in the nation overall.

For LPN, that earned a ranking of 188 out of 935 programs. ADN was ranked fourth in the state and in the top 11 percent nationally.

College officials points to “dedicated, expert” faculty and the school’s Health Simulation Technology Center in Appleton as benefitting these programs. There, students can practice with patient simulation technology, practicing life-saving techniques in a laboratory setting.

FVTC gets these numbers from the National Council Licensure Examination.
