Road America: Rossi, Hunter-Reay, Andretti and more to participate in Verizon IndyCar Test at Road America June 14

Public Admission is $10 or FREE with proof of advance ticket purchase to the Verizon IndyCar Series Kohler Grand Prix scheduled for June 25

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., June 13, 2017 – Preparations for Verizon IndyCar Kohler Grand Prix will begin in earnest during a Verizon IndyCar Series Test Session on the revered 4-mile, 14-turn Road America circuit on Wednesday, June 14.

Verizon IndyCar Series drivers participating in the event include 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner Alexander Rossi, 2014 Indianapolis 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay and Marco Andretti of Andretti Autosport, plus James Hinchcliffe of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Ed Jones of Dayle Coyne Racing.

Nico Jamin and Dalton Kellett, who race for Andretti Autosport in Indy Lights, and Carlin Racing’s Matheus Leist, will share cars with Ryan Hunter-Reay, Alexander Rossi and Marco Andretti.

Zachary Claman De Melo, another Carlin Indy Lights driver, will share James Hinchcliffe’s Schmidt Peterson Motorsports-Honda.

Testing will take place from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be media availability for drivers in the paddock at the team transporters from noon-1 p.m.

Fans are welcome to watch testing for FREE by showing proof of advance ticket purchase to the Verizon IndyCar Series Kohler Grand Prix scheduled for June 25. Test session tickets are available at the gate for $10. Anyone interested in purchasing an advance ticket to the Verizon IndyCar Series Kohler Grand Prix during the test session will receive a $10 discount. Advance ticket prices for the Verizon IndyCar Kohler Grand Prix end at Midnight on June 14.

Road America will also be hosting its popular Caffeine and Gasoline event near the Tufte Center. This new grass roots-style motorsports experience is specifically dedicated to uniting enthusiasts, collectors and builders in a low-key environment while embracing those who simply have a passion for cars.

Classics, Muscle, Street, or anything unique and collectable are welcome. Registration for Caffeine and Gasoline is $15 per person and includes coffee provided by Torke, doughnuts and a chance to meet the team from Andretti Racing plus enjoy exclusive tours of the facility. Coffee and doughnuts will be served at 8:30 a.m.

Caffeine and Gasoline participants will also be admitted for the test session to witness all the sights and sounds of Verizon IndyCar series racing before the Kohler Grand Prix comes to Road America.

Caffeine and Gasoline participants must pre-register online at www.roadamerica.com and space is limited to 300 vehicles.

Proceeds from Caffeine and Gasoline will be donated to the Wisconsin Honor Flight program, sending Wisconsin Veterans to Washington DC.

Road America’s new Paddock Shop will be open during the event so folks can pick up anything from apparel to racing inspired merchandise for your garage or man-cave.
