[Milwaukee, Wis.] – Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2017 WERCBench Labs Program. M-WERC is looking for up to 10 start-up teams to participate in the program. The Fall 2017 program will be similar to the two-previous early-stage, start-up programs previously held in the summer 2015 and fall 2016. Each of those two programs graduated nine teams.

“WERCBench Labs is an entrepreneurial immersive technology program providing a unique opportunity for start-ups to interact directly with our roster of more than 90 world-class, experienced and technical mentors,” said Jeff Anthony, managing director for WERCBench Labs.  “The teams we select will have access to unparalleled expertise in our member companies, seasoned instructors, newly-created lab and prototyping facilities, and small-scale production equipment”.

Participants will also have access to the leading companies in the world on Energy, Power and Controls technology enabled by the M-WERC regional cluster of business and academic institutions, providing unparalleled opportunities for start-ups and entrepreneurs in the energy industry.

M-WERC will once again instruct participating teams in this mentor-driven, technology immersive program through the lean start-up curriculum. Participants will complete a rigorous and aggressive customer discovery and business model canvas exploration during the 12-week program.  Classes will run from September through November, with a Demo Day in mid-December 2017.

New this year, teams will have access to a new laboratory and fabrication space at M-WERC’s headquarters in the Energy Innovation Center, a former research building located at 4201 N. 27th St. in Milwaukee.

Applicants are encouraged to request a full Application Package by emailing WERCBench@m-werc.org. Completed applications must be submitted online at the following link: https://www.f6s.com/wercbenchlabs-yearthree.  Applications are due by midnight CDT on Friday, June 30, 2017.
