$20,000 in Scholarships Available to Wisconsin High School Senior Athletes
MILWAUKEE (Feb. 1, 2017) – For the fifth consecutive year, Cousins Subs® and its Make It Better Foundation will offer $20,000 in scholarships to Wisconsin high school senior athletes as part of its Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship Contest.
From Feb. 1 – 28, any high school senior who is graduating in 2017, has participated in a WIAA sanctioned sport and has excelled in academics and community service, can apply for the scholarship.* Following the contest entry period, the Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation Board of Directors will award scholarships to four finalists—two $7,500 scholarships to one male and one female and two $2,500 scholarships to one male and one female.
Finalists are awarded scholarships during the 2017 Wisconsin Sports Awards event held at Camp Randall Stadium on May 11, 2017 in Madison, Wis. Each finalist, and their family, will have the opportunity to attend the exclusive VIP event celebrating the best of Wisconsin athletics in high school, collegiate and professional arenas, walk the blue carpet and be recognized in front of Wisconsin’s finest athletes.
“For 45 years, Cousins Subs has been committed to helping its local communities thrive in the areas of health and wellness, hunger and youth education,” said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. “The Wisconsin Sports Award Scholarship Contest is an extension of this commitment and allows us to recognize the hard work of high school senior-athletes throughout Wisconsin as well as assist them on their academic and athletic journey.”
The scholarships are funded through the Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to funding causes that address health and wellness, hunger and youth education in the communities that Cousins Subs serves. Year-to-date, the foundation has awarded $60,000 in scholarships to 16 high school student-athletes throughout Wisconsin.
*For eligibility requirements and to complete the application online, visit cousinssubs.com/scholarship by Feb. 28, 2017. Students must submit an application online by 11:59PM CST on Feb. 28, 2017. If mailing in an entry, it must be postmarked Feb. 28, 2017 or it will not qualify.
