MADISON- Nearly 1700 twinkling lights will be lit up in front of University Hospital to remember and honor loved ones this holiday season. The annual Love Lights ceremony and lightings will be held on Sunday, December 11. Programs will be held at 1p.m. and 3p.m. at the UW Health Sciences Learning Center, followed by the lighting at the main entrances to University Hospital.

Families donated $5for each light or $10for three to remember or honor a loved one. White lights represent loved ones who are being remembered. Blue lights honor a living person. Families also have the option of having their loved one included in a Love Lights ad that will be published in the Wisconsin State Journal.

The programs and lightings are sponsored by Friends of UW Health. The money raised is used by Friends for grants to support patient and family programs and services at UW Health.

Last year, 900 donor families attended and nearly 1800 lights were lit up as part of the annual holiday season event.
