Milwaukee – Do you know of a truly great small business deserving of recognition? The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Wisconsin office is accepting nominations for its 2017 National Small Business Week Awards, including the annual Small Business Person of the Year. Since 1963, National Small Business Week has recognized the outstanding achievements of America’s small businesses for their contributions to their local communities, and to our nation’s economy.

There are seven small business awards categories and six small business champion categories. Several will be eligible for regional and national recognition. Nominating a business is easy—the first step is to send an email to Mary Trimmier at mary.trimmier@sba.gov identifying the business and why it is being nominated, by December 8. Nomination packages will then be sent to the nominee for completion.

All final awards packages must be submitted in person or by mail to the Wisconsin District Office, 310 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 580W, Milwaukee, WI 53203 no later than Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.

SBA awards will be presented in Milwaukee and throughout the country during National Small Business Week, April 30 – May 6, 2017.
