Miron Construction Co., Inc. was recently presented with the Excellence in Safety Award by Engineering News Record (ENR) Midwest for its work on the Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology clinic in Appleton, Wisconsin. Miron achieved zero accidents with 145,000 total man-hours on the job due to its proactive safety program.

Miron worked in partnership with McMahon Group on the $14.7 million project. Prior to the groundbreaking, the team created visual site logistic plans to identify hazards, including underground utilities, parking constraints and fall risks. By discussing and planning for each of these potential hazards, the team was able to minimize the dangers associated with each. Miron also held safety training on the job site and provided rewards and incentives to employees for meeting safety goals.

Miron, along with other award recipients, will be honored at the ENR Midwest Best Projects event held on Nov. 30 in Chicago.
